With Safe-Trade, Forklift serves as a trusted intermediary, ensuring that every transaction is processed securely and smoothly for both buyer and seller.

We receive the payment from the buyer and release it to the seller only after the delivery has been received by the customer.

How buyers and sellers benefit with safe trade.

Guaranteed delivery of appliances

The equipment is delivered directly to the buyer in the agreed-upon condition.

Guaranteed receipt of payment

The seller receives the full purchase amount as soon as delivery is confirmed.

Clear processing

No uncertainties about whether the money or the equipment should be sent first. Safe-Trade offers a secure and defined framework.

Trusted
intermediary

Forklift acts as a neutral party, ensuring smooth transactions between buyer and seller.

It's as simple as that.

As usual, the buyer and seller first agree on a price for the piece of equipment. Once the seller’s offer has been accepted, the Safe-Trade process begins. From this point forward, Forklift manages the secure payment processing, ensuring both parties are fully protected.
  1. Invoice for machine and Safe-Trade:
The dealer sends us the invoice with the agreed purchase price, which we forward to you unchanged. You will also receive an invoice from us for the use of the Safe-Trade service.
  2. Payment to Forklift:
As soon as you’ve transferred the amounts on both invoices to us, we will inform the seller.
  3. Confirmation and dispatch:
Depending on the agreement between buyer and seller, the equipment can now be collected or transport can be arranged.
Note: Forklift is not involved in transportation. The buyer and seller will make separate arrangements.
  4. Receipt and finalisation:
Once the equipment has arrived and you confirm receipt, we will transfer the payment to the seller.

NOTE:

Forklift does not provide any warranty regarding the condition or properties of the purchased item and is not a party to the purchase contracts!

FAQ

How exactly does Safe-Trade work?

Safe-Trade is a secure payment service from Forklift-International, where the buyer’s money is held in an escrow account. Once the buyer has received the equipment and confirmed delivery, the purchase price is transferred to the seller. This ensures protection for both parties.

How much does payment processing via Safe-Trade cost?

A fee of €345 plus 1% of the agreed purchase price is charged for payment processing.

Example:
For a purchase price of €15,000, the Safe-Trade fee is calculated as:
€345 + (1% of €15,000) = €345 + €150 = €495.

When will the payment be released to the seller?

Payment is released to the seller once one of the following criteria is met:

  • The buyer confirms receipt of the machine.
  • Automatically, 7 days after the scheduled delivery date if no feedback has been received from the buyer and there are no objections.
What happens if the machine arrives damaged or not as described?

Forklift does not provide any warranty for the purchased item. If the equipment arrives damaged or does not match the description, it is the responsibility of the buyer and seller to resolve the issue directly. Forklift does not act as an arbitrator in such disputes. However, the buyer has the right to refuse the equipment, in which case the purchase price (excluding the Safe-Trade fee) will be refunded.

How is the delivery/collection of the machine organised?

Delivery or pickup is arranged directly between the buyer and seller. Forklift is not involved in the transportation process.

What happens if the delivery is late?

If the delivery is delayed, please inform us immediately to prevent automatic payment 7 days after the scheduled delivery date. If a new delivery date has been arranged, kindly let us know.

What happens if there is a problem with the delivery?

If there are any issues with the delivery, the buyer and seller must resolve the situation directly.

However, please inform us in such cases to prevent the automatic release of the purchase price.

How safe is my money during the processing?

The money is held in a Forklift-International escrow account until the buyer confirms receipt of the equipment. This guarantees that the seller only receives payment once the equipment has been delivered.

What happens if the buyer does not confirm receipt of the machine?

If the buyer does not confirm receipt within 7 days of the scheduled delivery date, the purchase amount will be automatically released to the seller, as long as no objections have been raised.

Which payment methods are possible via Safe-Trade?

The purchase price can be paid via bank transfer to Forklift’s escrow account. Other payment methods, such as credit card or PayPal, are currently not supported.

Can I use Safe-Trade for international purchases?

Yes, Safe-Trade can also be used for international purchases, as long as the buyer and seller agree on shipping to the relevant country.

Used Market Ranking 2024

Used Market Ranking 2024: The Most Popular Forklift Brands

Nothing works without them: Forklifts and warehouse equipment are essential for the flow of goods in any company. However, new devices are expensive, and not every company wants or can currently invest in them. A look at the used market shows that the number of high-performance and reliable used forklifts has recently increased significantly following the supply shortages of recent years. Therefore, buyers of used forklifts are finding more attractive and increasingly affordable offers.

One’s gain, another’s loss: For sellers, it is all the more important to be aware of which brands are currently selling particularly well and which brands have demand that even exceeds supply.

In our used market ranking, we take a detailed look at the most popular forklift brands in Europe in 2024.

The European forklift equipment market in 2024 will be characterised by a mix of established market leaders and innovative niche suppliers.

As expected, Linde dominates the European field. However, there is a small surprise in second place with Toyota. While the Japanese manufacturer is the international leader in the new equipment market, it has so far mostly been behind Linde, Still and Jungheinrich in the European used equipment market.

The top 3 manufacturers at a glance:

Platz 1:
Linde Material Handling
Platz 1: Linde Material Handling

With an impressive market share of 25,75%, Linde’s used industrial equipment is sold almost as often as the 2nd, 3rd and 4th largest manufacturers combined. Linde Material Handling equipment are particularly popular on the used market because they are known for their high reliability, durability, and excellent service coverage.

Platz 2:
Toyota Material Handling
Platz 2: Toyota Material Handling

Toyota Material Handling overtook Still and Jungheinrich to take second place with a share of 9,27%.

The Japanese manufacturer secured second place thanks to a wide and high-quality product range, a good service network, and what is perceived by many to be a good price/performance balance.

Platz 3:
STILL
Platz 3: STILL

With a share of 9,10%, STILL trucks are the third most sold brand in the European used truck market. STILL equipment is particularly popular due to its advanced technology, ergonomic design, and high energy efficiency, making it a reliable and cost-effective choice for many companies.

The hottest brands 2024:

If you want to sell a forklift truck, it is not only the number of trucks sold that is of interest but also the number of trucks offered by competitors. Below, we have analysed which of the top 20 brands have particularly high demand combined with low supply. The result is the “hottest” forklift brands of 2024!

Diese Staplerbrands verkaufen sich besonders gut in 2024!
These brands have high demand relative to supply in 2024 (Source: Forklift).

The graph shows the popularity of certain brands in relation to the available used stock. A resulting “demand barometer” of 1 means that a forklift is offered as often as it is demanded. Any equipment with a coefficient greater than 1 is therefore in relatively high demand and considered “hot”.

Let’s take a closer look at Linde Material Handling:

  • Linde brand forklift trucks account for 25,75% of all requests. However, 29,58% of all forklift truck listings are Linde equipment. Put in proportion, this results in a coefficient of
    25,75%29,58% = 0,87

In the example of Winner Merlo, this results in a coefficient of 5.50. This is because the equipment has an enquiry share of 1.56%, while it only accounts for 0.28% of all listings.

The top 3 hidden champions at a glance:

Platz 1:
Merlo
Platz 1: Merlo

“Merlo telehandlers: by professionals for professionals”—this is how the manufacturer describes itself on its website. This tagline provides direct insight into why the telehandler specialist’s machines are so popular: customer-centered solutions coupled with a fast service network catapult Merlo to first place among the hidden champions!

Platz 2:
Combilift
Platz 2: Combilift

The specialist for multidirectional forklift trucks delivers outstanding solutions, particularly in the area of long goods handling. It’s no wonder that Combilift’s equipment resonates with many customers, securing second place.

Platz 3:
Manitou
Platz 3: MANITOU

Thanks to its high-quality product range, the French manufacturer, which is particularly well-known for its rough-terrain and telescopic forklift trucks, not only achieved a phenomenal 5th place in the overall ranking but also 3rd place among the hottest brands of 2024! Chapeau!

Jump directly to specific information

This information is available in every designation

Each type designation always contains at least one letter followed by a number.

The design type and the corresponding load capacity are indicated above it

First letter = type of construction

The initial letter before the first number directly indicates the type of construction. The letters mean
  • A = Narrow-aisle stacker
  • C = Container stacker / Reach stacker
  • D = Pallet Stacker (double deck loader)
  • E = Counterbalance Forklift with electric motor
  • EW(R) = Variant for North America = Electric Walkie (Rider)
  • EWS = Variant for North America = Electric Walkie Stacker
  • ECR = Variant for North America = Electric Centre Rider Pallet Truck
  • ETR = Variant for North America = Electric Warehouse Truck
  • HCounterbalance Forklift with combustion engine
  • HT = Heavy duty Forklift with additional safety variants
  • K = Narrow aisle & order picker (combination truck)
  • L = Pallet Stacker
  • ML & MM = Pallet Stacker with order picking adaptations (multifunction)
  • M = Hand pallet truck
  • N = Order picker
  • MT & T = Electric Pallet Truck
  • P = Electric tow tractor
  • R = Reach truck
  • S = Sideloader
  • V = Order picker with extendable platform
  • W = Electric Platform Truck
  • X = Counterbalance Forklift with electric motor (new generation with high performance)

Share of individual types in all Linde appliances

First number = load capacity

The first number of the type designation indicates the load capacity in 100kg increments.

Examples:

  • E 25: Electric forklift truck with 25 x 100 kg = 2,500 kg load capacity
  • E 180: Electric forklift truck with 180 x 100 kg = 18,000 kg load capacity

With this knowledge, you can easily differentiate between the main types of construction and their load-bearing capacity.

Summary:

The type designation at Linde consists of two main components: the type and the load capacity. The type is indicated by the letter (e.g. E for electric forklift trucks, T for low lift trucks), while the load capacity is indicated by the first number in 100 kg increments. For example, you can recognise that an E 25 is an electric forklift truck with a load capacity of 2,500 kg. A T14 would be a low lift pallet truck with a load capacity of 1,400 kg.

Optional information

In addition to the main components mentioned, there are other components in the type designation that indicate specific features or special equipment of the truck. These additional characters help to identify the exact configuration and special features of the truck.

General information

  • EX = Explosion-proof (often combined with zone indication)
  • Beverage = Version for the beverage industry
  • Container = Container equipment
  • Scale+ = With integrated scale
  • Inox = Stainless steel version

Load centre of gravity

Number after a ‘/’ indicates changed load centre.

  • /600 = load centre at 600mm

Information on the mast type

In some cases, details of the mast type fitted are given directly in the type designation. These are given as follows:

  • Std = Standard mast
  • Duplex = Duplex mast

For front loaders with combustion engines, the drive type is also specified. A distinction is made between the following specifications:

  • T = LPG
  • D = Diesel
  • CNG = Natural gas
  • EVO = “EVO = Evo series (better energy efficiency, improved ergonomics, and safety compared to previous models)”
  • CT = Cushion Tire (information on the tyres installed – mostly used in North America)

Reachstacker

  • TL  = Toplift Handler
  • CH = Combustion Handler

Electric forklift trucks and devices with battery

For smaller electric forklift trucks, which are offered as a three-wheel version as standard, there are references to the four-wheel version:

  • P = Four-wheel version

In the ‘EVO’ series, there are models with different specifications:

  • EVO = EVO series (Better energy efficiency, improved ergonomics and safety than previous models)

Navigating the Shift: Adapting to the Changing Forklift Market

Market Insights by Christoph Schmid

Christoph Schmid CEO

"Forklift's machine inventory surges 40% since January 2023!"

23 February 2024

In the ever-evolving landscape of the forklift industry, staying ahead of market trends is crucial for resellers to maintain a competitive edge. Recent data indicates a significant shift in the market dynamics compared to January 2023, with the number of machines available for sale on Forklift experiencing a notable 40% increase.

Since mid-2023, the market for forklifts has transitioned from being predominantly seller-driven to favoring buyers, marking a substantial shift in dynamics. This shift has not only expanded the options available to buyers but has also instilled a sense of caution due to prevailing economic uncertainties. Consequently, we are observing an initial decline in prices, further exacerbated by rising interest costs.

In light of these developments, resellers must strategize and adapt to this new reality to optimize their sales and capitalize on emerging opportunities.

Strategies for Resellers in the Evolving Market:

1. Competitive Pricing and Timely Selling:
In response to the shifting market dynamics, resellers are encouraged to advertise their inventory at competitive prices. Selling now enables resellers to leverage the proceeds to invest in “new” used equipment later at potentially lower prices.

2. Optimized Advertisements:
Enhance the visibility of listings by optimizing advertisements with high-quality images and compelling pricing. This proactive approach attracts more clicks and inquiries, maximizing the chances of successful transactions.

3. Agile Trading Approach:
In a market characterized by fluctuating prices, agility is paramount. Resellers should prioritize swift transactions over maximizing margins on individual devices. By promptly listing and selling equipment in its current condition, resellers can capitalize on market fluctuations and maximize profitability.

4. Market Awareness and Price Adjustment:
Stay vigilant of market trends and adjust pricing strategies accordingly. Every day a listing remains active incurs costs, particularly with rising interest rates. Regularly updating prices to align with market conditions is essential to optimize returns.

Get Expert Support:
Navigating the complexities of a shifting market landscape can be challenging, but you don’t have to do it alone. Our team is dedicated to providing comprehensive support and guidance to help resellers adapt and thrive in the evolving forklift market.

Have questions or need assistance? We’re here to help. Reach out to us today to explore tailored solutions and maximize your success in the dynamic forklift industry. Together, let’s navigate the changing tides and unlock new opportunities for growth and profitability.
